The Clinical Epidemiology Unit (CEU) at ISEM uses modern statistical and epidemiological methods to generate evidence that helps improve disease prevention and the quality of clinical care. One major focus of CEU is the application of mathematical modeling to research questions from infectious disease epidemiology. Dr André Karch has more than a decade of experience in the field as a data analyst and modeler. He has previously been involved in a JPIAMR-funded project on the role of static healthcare networks for the spread of Enterobacteriaceae in Europe. He has worked explicitly on how to reconstruct healthcare networks from incomplete data (as present in the German healthcare system).
